We came across these gorg(eous) art-deco inspired Jo Thorne pieces, we immediately knew we had to post about them.  Each piece is modern and beautiful without screaming “Hey, I’m wearing a tiara!”–which we are so not into.  London-based Jo Thorne designs and hand-crafts their pieces for a delicate, non-fussy bride.  To us, they also exude a classic-Hollywood vibe–think Grace.  Here’s a little more about Jo’s company and process in their own words…

What we’re all about
Our brand is inspired by sophisticated, smart, independent women; a thoroughly modern-day bride. We offer our clients an uncompromising level of quality and service – quality of design, quality of making, and a uniquely personal experience, underpinned by the idea that an accessory for your hair should be something of lasting value rather than just a cheap, throwaway item.  Jo Thorne is truly a creatively driven, design-led business. Most of what we do is accomplished in our own workshop, but we also employ craftspeople and box makers, precious metal suppliers and technicians, graphic artists and printers.  Most of our suppliers are based in the heart of London’s jewelry quarter, where a brief stroll still evokes a fine sense of old London and its oldest trades. If you’ve had a glimpse into the labyrinth of tiny workshops hidden away down marble stairways and behind heavy timber doors, you’ll recognize the smell of burning flux, rouge, and melting wax drifting up from this subterranean world – a fitting incense for an ancient tradition.  Jo Thorne products are the sum of many skilled processes, and a vibrant, modern expression of these old crafts. The Jo Thorne brand is bringing smart, contemporary design to bridal hair decorations, updating them for the 21st century. We’d like to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at the creative effort and energy that goes into designing, making and presenting our hair jewelry and accessories.

Enjoy!
